Sportsmanship

Policy-Sportsmanship

The Evolution Soccer Club recognizes that youth sports are competitive by nature. Because of this, the club has pledged to create a positive learning experience where our children can learn the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship while learning to play and respect the game. Evolution also recognizes the responsibility on our parents and coaches to be a good role model for our youth. It’s equally important we teach and encourage these same positive behaviors on and off the field! With this in mind, the Sportsmanship Policy will be used by our parents and coaches to help our players understand their responsibility in controlling their behavior while participating in any kind of sports, especially here at Evolution.

- Provide positive support, care, and encouragement for those participating in practices and in games such as youth, coaches and officials.
- Place the emotional and physical well being of your child ahead of your desire to win.
- Treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect!
- Be a role model for our youth by being active within the community, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, participating in team events and help maintain the fields.

The Following Items/Actions are NOT Tolerated at Evolution Events:

- No unsportsmanlike comments towards managers, coaches, officials, parents, and children
- No yelling at, threatening, or physically attacking a league official, coach, parent or child
- No entering the field of play without permission of the head coach or league official
- No mistreatment of property or facilities to include equipment, fields and buildings
- No negative or derogatory cheering / yelling at anyone
- Understand that the game officials are here for the kids and the game. Do not question their calls or make     unsportsmanlike comments towards the officials. If you are not satisfied with a referee, take it up with your child’s head coach. They understand the league rules and can, if deemed appropriate, file a complaint.
- Do not approach an official during or after a game to question their calls.

**
Understand that if failed to follow the items listed above, will result in asking to leave the premises and/or soccer club.
